Our Mobile Mechanic Training Lab addresses the challenge of providing technical education in remote areas by creating a fully-equipped teaching facility that can be transported anywhere in Uganda.
Project Details
- 20-foot shipping container conversion with fold-out workspaces
- Solar power system for energy independence
- Comprehensive set of tools and diagnostic equipment
- Multimedia teaching aids including manuals and video capability
- Capacity to train 12 students simultaneously
The mobile lab allows us to deliver our 3-week intensive basic mechanic training course in areas where permanent facilities don't exist. Each deployment serves approximately 40 students before moving to the next location.
Implementation Timeline
The container conversion is currently underway, with equipment installation scheduled for completion next month. The first deployment will be to Gulu district, followed by Mbarara and Mbale.
